Curriculum Outline: 5 Units + Practical Lessons
Unit 1: Intro to Anatomy — Learn anatomical & directional terms, the planes of motion, types of muscle contractions & interactions, + more!
Unit 2: The Upper Extremity — Learn the components that make up the shoulder girdle, landmarks of the scapula, muscles that move the upper body and how they relate to yoga/pilates/movement.
Unit 3: The Lower Extremity — Learn the components that make up the hip and SI joint complex, landmarks of the pelvis, muscles that move the lower body and how they relate to yoga/pilates/movement.
Unit 4: The Spine & Trunk — Learn the structural components of the spinal column, as well as the muscles of the spine, core, and trunk.
Unit 5: Conditions & Contraindications — Learn about common conditions and how to modify for them. The unit goes over the following conditions: arthritis, bursitis, epicondylitis, muscle strains, ligament sprains, shoulder dislocation, and sciatica.
Practical Lessons: Mini movement classes that provide an embodied anatomical experience, to complete the course feeling confident and ready to incorporate your newly acquired knowledge into your public or private classes!

Iysha Nobes
As a healthcare professional with a unique outlook on therapeutics, Iysha approaches her work from an integrated, body-based perspective. Her work includes tools such as clinical somatics, myofascial release, therapeutic mobility, nervous system regulation techniques, and yoga therapy. With a decade’s worth of experience in the field, Iysha takes an therapeutic and evidence-based approach to her work.
In her private clinical practice, Iysha provides quality rehabilitative care to her patients through acupuncture/dry needling, soft tissue release and manual therapy, therapeutic ultrasound, kinesiology taping, and yoga therapy.
Iysha is a clinical Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), Trauma-Informed Yoga Therapist (TIYT) and a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists. She is also a member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) and a graduate of the McMaster University Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program, supported by the university’s Department of Anesthesia.
In addition, Iysha provides accredited continuing education (YACEP®) to yoga teachers and pilates instructors in the areas of applied musculoskeletal anatomy, nervous system physiology, myofascial release, and somatics. She has trained over 200 movement professionals in these areas of study.
